Sweet story

Ok my friends, the title of this show is a doozy.

Another series this Spring season that dealt with the controversial age gap topic. The title itself is a synopsis of the show.

While Koikimo: It's Too Sick to Call This Love took a romcom approach, Higehiro took a more serious and dramatic one.

Our main girl, Sayu, ran away from home and as the show progressed, we learned more about her troubled past. It was very depressing and traumatic, and I couldn't blame her for escaping from her home. I'll probably do the same thing if that happened to me.

Our main guy, Yoshida, was probably the most ideal gentleman. Given that our runaway high school student was very cute, our man overcame all the testosterone stimulation and temptation, and instead became more of a father figure. Many would say that his character was too idealistic, and I agreed, even though I think there might be people getting close to him.

The relationship between these two main characters were very sweet. They were both lonely and sad people, and they made each other happier. Also, towards the end, Sayu grew and moved on from her trauma. It was heartbreaking and satisfying to see the ending.

Since the show dealt with a controversial issue, it was inevitable that there would be controversy. However, for me, I actually had a problem with the action from the brother character, who was introduced later in the show. That's my only problem with the show.

Overall, a sweet and heartbreaking show that got me invested. Also a very fitting ending. 8/10.
