I wanted to like it, but it's just silly drama

Warning: Spoilers
I cant understand how people can judge a show and give it 1 star from the very first episode.

Woke or not, the show starts with a school teacher that stands up against a corporation. Typical stuff for TV, but where it gets smart, is when the teacher finds a map loophole and comes up with the idea of creating her own country to stop the corporation.

For me this is awesome because we could get an glimpse of how a country gets founded and how it can run. The problems and ins and outs of something so bizarre and peculiar! I'm very curious to see how it goes as the possibilities for potential political struggles and challenges are pretty much endless.

Of course we do have the typical drama of school bullying, the gay guy, the ex girlfriend with your kid and the possibly lesbian protagonist to explore, which will attract a certain audience.

But for me, it's the premise and the possible directions it can go. It starts in a mild tone and I cant wait to see where it gets from here.

Edit: (from 7 stars to 4)

The show shows how shallow it is from the beginning of the 2nd episode. Sarah gets arrested and her trial in court gets resolved off screen! What is more important than that? The teen drama apparently.

The show ignores the most important aspects of building a new country, and it focuses on who likes who and who sleeps with who. This is clearly evident by episode 4. Responsible for the anti-counterfeiting measures of their new money is a 16 year old kid with daddy issues? And that is ignored by the fact that the guy who asks these questions is... hot?

Yes, the 16 year old girl and the protagonist (her teacher) not only like him, but the mere mention of the guy being "hot" is considered to be a discussion of the teachers love life? The dialogues are all over the place, as stuff get clearly thrown out of nowhere.

The politics and the seriousness is kept to a minimum, to give space to cheesy drama and mild humor. Personally I dont like most of the characters and Sarah doesnt inspire me as a leader at all. She does try to fight everything with a smile but she comes out as stupid who comes up with the episode's solution by sheer luck instead or research and by being smart or by really struggling to figure out what to do. Everyone is on her side (except the episode's challenge) and everything feels easy and cheesy. Reminds me of Designated Survivor, only that show had a better 1st season.

Also... 24% of the viewers give this show 10 stars? Give me a break cheaters! Without your cheating the show wouldn't have an average of 5.4 stars, but under 3. Make better shows that respect the viewers intelligence if you want legit high scores.
