My title pretty much sums up Alleluia. How the man happens to be so ball-less and spineless is beyond me. That was never explained. The woman's jealous rages I could definitely understand, but it's like she kept his gonads in her back pocket and only gave it to him when it was lovemaking time. Bizarre. The bits about him being a womanizer is absolutely believable. Many times, with your own eyes, you'd occasionally see a pretty woman with her arms intertwined with an ogre and ask, "How the hell is she with him?" It happens. There is no shortage of despondent, desperate women out there, that's for sure. Anyway, it is what it is. I'm kind of sitting on the fence of whether 'Alleluia' is recommended or not. Is it brilliant film-making? No. Cautionary? I would say so.
