Uncovering murky truths
30 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
A look at a horrific crime that took place in Ireland during the height of the Troubles in the 1970s, and the murky conspiracy surrounding it. Although well made and fine in terms of format, I was less impressed with this Netflix documentary than with some others. It certainly has the heart and plenty of tragedy, but crucial hard evidence seems thin on the ground and a lot of it feels based on supposition and theory. When they call in Ken Livingstone as chief witness then you feel they're in trouble a bit. A pity, because a case like this deserves more attention.
