Warning: Spoilers
The tenth episode of the seventh season fittingly titled "Family Matters, Part 1" primarily focused on training Alexa aka the strength force and getting through to Psych aka Bashir aka the sage force.

Right off the bat, I absolutely adore Alexa and really hope that she becomes a permanent member of Team Flash. Unfortunately, she was killed off for the second time by speed force Nora. This served as an enticing cliffhanger to next week's intense episode. The ending literally had me in utter shock and disbelief. I refuse to believe that her death is going to stick.

One of the fun things I noticed when watching the episode and all the previous episodes containing the forces was that their eyes kind of remind me of the buttons on the Playstation remote. Especially, when Psych's eyes light up, it immediately makes me think of the Playstation button. That was a fun little tidbit of the episode. :)

I got literal chills when Joe handed his badge and gun, and resigned as Captain. He gave such a powerful speech to Kristen Kramer that felt incredibly poignant. On episode 14 of Batwoman, Sophie had a similar storyline to Joe's and also quit her job in law enforcement. I don't think it is a coincidence that both Batwoman and the Flash had episodes pertaining to police brutality, the BLM movement and the corrupt police force. Both shows tackled it head on and with sincerity and pathos.

Agent Chip Cooper aka Lieutenant Literal was briefly mentioned in this episode. Cisco received an email from him on his phone. I wonder what the email entails. Is Lieutenant Literal offering Cisco a job?

The episode ends on a downer. Speed force Nora blackmailed Deon aka the still force into helping her get rid of the forces. I doubt that Alexa and Bashir are gone for good. They will definitely return somehow in episode 11.

I loved seeing Alexa and Bashir's sibling rivalry. It was sweet how Alexa is the voice of reason for Bashir. She literally turned him to the good side.

The Flash has always been a family oriented show and this episode proves that. I low-key want to be part of the Flash family. They are such a diverse group of characters with different personalities. Speed force Nora is the family member who wants to tear the family apart and wants all the attention from Barry and Iris. I think that next week's episode will see her accepting the fact that Alexa, Bashir and Deon are her siblings and not the ultimate threat.

To conclude, this episode turned out to be light hearted, action packed, character and story driven and incredibly touching. It served as a terrific first parter, and the ending directly sets up the second part. I'm proud to call this my favourite episode of the season so far. I can't stop thinking about that shocking cliffhanger.

Final verdict: 10/10.
