Quatermass 2.0
26 April 2021
This movie is part of a kind of Sci-Fi trilogy that began the change of the Hammer production company in the 50s to focus more on Horror and Sci-Fi films. It could be considered as a "Quatermass 2.0" film, as it was planned as a sequel of "The Quatermass Xperiment", but couldn't bear the name because Nigel Kneale, the creator of the character, refused. It still has all the same feeling of the other wonderful two films, even when it lacks the touch of Val Guest as a director. It is also an early example of the Blob movie subgenre (a couple of years before the iconic "The Blob") with good effects for the time and an excellent atmosphere, even when it has a little too much scientific talk.
