Set in 1861 in Oregon , a trapper : Tim McIntire and his pregnant Apache wife unknowingly build shelter on the Pauite indians' sacred burial ground . Things go awry when his wife dies in childbirth. Born among the dead...claimed by Paiute nation...his child became sacred !

Acceptable Western drama with thrills , go riding , shootouts , Indian charges and spectacular landscapes . It deals with life of a pioneer , his hard way , fights , family and adding an agreeable relationship with another mountain man well played by Jack Elam. Our starring Tim McIntire becomes involved in problem and is forced to kidnap a Paiute woman who has just buried her own deceased infant . Stars Tim McIntire who gives a nice acting , he was son of the prestigious secondaries John McIntire and Jeanette Nolan , however, he had a brief but fruitful career due to his early death at 41 . He was accompanied by prolific and notorious support cast as LQ Jones and the always sympathetic Jack Elam . As well as other secondaries , some of them are native origin as Midi Millar , Eloy Casados , Serena Hedum.

It displays an atmospheric musical score from Bagley and Kauer , adding Indian and emotive sounds . As well as a colorful and brilliant cinematography by Charles B Pierce himself . This attractive movie benefits itself to be filmed on location in breathtaking and impressive outdoors from Oregon .The enjoyable picture produced by Arthur Dubbs in medium budget was professionally written/directed by Charles B Pierce. This artisan directed other westerns in similar style , Terror movie and even a Viking movie , as he made : "Hawken's Breed" , "Grayeagle" , " Winterhawk" , "Sacred Ground" , "Town that dreaded Sundown", "The Evictors" , "Legend of Bobby Creek" , "Bobby Creek II" , "Norseman" , among others. The flick will appeal to Western fans .
