For one episode in the middle of the series we go off on a tangent of satan worshiping and orgies. Why? Except for that episode, which evidently satisfied the "needs more sex" directive, we don't ever really go back to that subplot. What had been an enjoyable show became dark and icky. Since this is "comics," the writers get to decide what to keep of real life and what to throw away - with the implication that cool kids will get it. But writers still need to follow a basic rule: Everything on the screen should advance the plot. Otherwise it's just self-indulgent twaddle.
