I'm mostly writing a review in hope to communicate with people who understood the film. I expected it to be either a thriller with real witchcraft like the dark and passionate the witch (2015) or a drama depicting the battle of innocent women to prove their innocence. The main problem as I see it is that the director didn't know what film he wanted to make. I guess young girls at that time didn't know any better and weren't able to predict the end of their actions. It is almost like a farce. Instead of trying to prove their innocence, the girls for some idiotic reason pretend that they are witches and make up lies regarding the witch's sabbath. That of course leads them to their doom. That's what I don't understand. Even witches tried to act innocent at that time. Why would they do that? It really disappointed me. It would have been a much better movie if they had planned better what story they were saying. To me it's just some dumb girls who don't understand the situation they put themselves in. I expected more from the village people too. A riot or smt. Great acting. Especially from the secondary characters. Good directing. Fair enough movie.
