Stupid

Quite a stupid movie with a few good musical numbers which saves the day. The plot is asinine as is the performances of the three male leads. The gals fair a tad better, especially Ann Miller who has the best lines. Continuity and realism are non existent. How does all the main action happen in the matter of a few hours? At a dress rehearsal for a show opening, the leading man isn't there!!!! At one point Debbie Reynolds leaves the apartment with just her dress. Next scene she has a covering on her dress. None of the gals carry purses, yet they seem to get around in taxis without paying!!! What???? Other improbabilities exist that just don't make sense. Like how did the Ann Miller character know where to find the Tony Martin character??? She just pops into the apartment of someone she doesn't even know. When Jane Powell barges into the the Hotel room the door is unlocked?? She doesn't close it upon entering, but a minute later the three shore patrol men arrive by knocking on the door. It was OPEN JUST A SECOND AGO. A lot of people working on this film weren't doing their job. And that stupid fun house routine was idiotic. How did Russ and Debbie just wonder in without paying??? See it for nostalgia, Ann Miller and some nice songs and dances.
