Warning: Spoilers
. . . that the events depicted in this film could be more aptly titled FOOL'S GOLD, rather than FLOWING GOLD. The prophetic prognosticators of the always eponymous Warner Bros. are clearly warning America of Big Oil's rampant corruption within a culture populated by brawlers, thugs and murderers. With this flick's fiery finale, the Warner seers are clearly forecasting a grave danger of Global Warming, with a scattering of natural disasters (such as the mudslides shown here) on the side. When Linda compares scenic panoramas despoiled by thousands of ugly crude oil derricks to a pristine backwoods forest, you can hear the ironic venom dripping from a screenwriter's poisoned pen. Surely FLOWING GOLD's cast and crew are lobbying for renewable energy, represented by the one-two punch of wind farms and solar arrays. Hap pretty much says that only Neanderthal cavemen would try to beat the dead horse of Big Oil over Humanity's finish line.
