The Man in the White Trenchcoat
12 February 2021
A short, sharp composite of 'Odd Man Out' and 'The Third Man' historically interesting as one of the very few British films of the fifties to use the activities of 'The Movement' (as the film calls them) as the backdrop to a commercial thriller.

The final 'twist' is easy to see coming, but the eerie score by Edwin Astley, atmospheric photography in Dublin and back at Twickenham by Eric Cross, and the always watchable William Sylvester keep you interested.
