When life is complicated and people's emotions and motivations shift and confuse it is refreshing to find a film that takes that reality head on. The themes of #Like are right on point for today's world where the internet is a source of distrust and pain as much as a benefit to mankind, authorities can be unwieldy and surety can lead to unforeseen conclusions. Marc Menchaca and Sarah Rich combine to create a dark tension that pervades the film, their respective characters struggling to make sense of their situation as the "truth" spirals and confounds them. #Like is not going to tie up a story in a nice neat bow for you, the journey is as much the message of the film as the destination. Well worth taking the trip.
