Warning: Spoilers
For once, it's good to see a telegu movie with a female lead and not the usual over-the-top hero. The screenplay is a bit messy and tries to mix several genres but fails flat. I'd prefer they keep the movie as a political thriller. The supernatural elements does generate suspense and adds more mystery to some scenes but after the reveal that it's all a facade, it raises more questions like how did she able to pull off one character's through the door with seemingly no rope of any kind? the horror elements are just too good to be staged like that. Anushka Shetty is very good and able to carry the movie, her dialogue delivery is decent in serious scenes especially in scenes where she gets possessed by Bhaagamatie's soul. Jayaram does an impressive job as the cunning, smiling snake politician, on the front he's a saint, selfless and man of the people while behind the curtain he's a corrupt and greedy like most politicians are, I enjoyed his performance because he is able to fool the viewer that he's the former and not the latter. Asha Sharath played a confident, smart officer, she's the one who questions Chanchala, but as smart and intelligent her character supposed to be she seems pretty daft at times, and how they were able to orchestrate all those illusions without her getting a hint is a bit baffling. As per usual, there are two to three comic relief characters, that might or might not provoke any laughter from me. In the technical department, the score as well as the cinematography do keep trying to give the film its much required lift sincerely. Overall, the film is entertaining and will keep you guessing about what's coming next.
