Best Swedish film ever made
1 January 2021
I am not a fan of Swedish film. Usually I think the acting is poor and that too much focus in on costumes and scenography, not subtitle acting or good direction. But this film is different. Usually, Swedish film shows upper middle class, and if they don't, it is about how miserable people from the working class is basically. This is the film about a genius. Who is also an alcoholic and who dropped out of school. But the focus is not on the alcohol, refreshingly. Mikael Persbrandt has never been this good, he deserves an Oscar for this performance. Helena Bergström also does her best acting I have ever seen her do. I was so moved by this film and I did NOT think so when seeing the trailer or hearing about it.
