I was so excited to see more Asians on TV but they are doing a disservice to the Asian community by trying to market this family as part of the higher echelons of Asian wealth and society when that is clearly not the case. Most Asians will see through this but other people will now think that this is the height of Asian achievement. They are holding Asians to a lower standard than other races. If HBO wants to ride the Crazy Rich Asians wave, they should respect that concept and not make a mockery of it with this family. If HBO just wants to make money, they should take Cousin Sammy and a bunch of other singles to make the Asian equivalent of Jersey Shore. It would at least be more entertaining and authentic.
