Don't Hug Me I'm Scared 6 (2016 TV Short)
10/10
A perfect ending to a brilliant miniseries, that becomes a surprisingly accurate depiction of our manipulated 21st century lives.

Warning: Spoilers
These 6 episodes have been amazing, thought-provoking, silly, innovative, but certainly also creepy, or even terrifying. But the latter is not only due to the brilliant set- and audio-disign, but also because of how remarkably close to reality it's themes are. I believe this show is about everyday life and how we're being controlled, pressured and guided into a repetitive and unhelathy direction by belief, computers, brands and society.

DHMIS 1 tries to prevent you from thinking for yourself or make personal choises. DHMIS 2 distracts you. DHMIS 3 wants to have you living a normal life, honoring traditions and religion (but more like a cult). DHMIS 4 distracts you again, and tracks & controls you with computers. DHMIS 5 tries to get you to buy certain mass produced foods, like commercials do. DHMIS 6 shows peer pressure by people that have also been manipulated by these other factors.

It takes a lot of courage to pursue your creativity and personality, but if you manage to pull the plug of media and society dragging you down, you might be able to do what you desired. Either that, or the entire proces starts over again. Quite brilliant!
