7/10
An old fashioned melodrama with some pseudo science and a curious title
23 October 2020
When a Harley Street brain surgeon (James Mason) successfully operates on a young girl (Ann Stephens) he begins a relationship with the girl's mother (Rosamund John). When he learns that she has been killed after falling out of a window, he blames the woman's sister-in-law (Pamela Kellino and the future Mrs James Mason).

A psychological melodrama thriller that works the suspense well and has plenty of strong moments, is evenly handled by director Lawrence Huntington and in many ways a very old fashioned melodrama.

Mason co-produced and his future wife Pamela makes for a good villain. Not sure what the title means though
