Gets way more thrashing than it deserves
3 October 2020
To be fair, when I watched the movie in theatre I was thoroughly disappointed. Now I think that was because of the high expectations I had on an Aamir Khan starrer. I might have expected more from Mr.Perfect.

But now when I rewatched it, I realized that this was a decent enough movie. I guess the major flaw in the movie was, as is the general curse of bollywood, the song sequences. Most, if not all, of the song sequence were unwanted and inconsequential. The climatic song even if was not inconsequential could have been exchanged for some other sequence. While we are at the topic of music, the background music also needed some work, especially those for Amitabh Bachan's Khudabaksh.

Other than the previously mentioned, the movie was a fairly enjoyable one. Aamir Khan's character of Firangi was an obvious rip-off of Jack Sparrow. But the character had his own charm. Firangi's deceitful character kept us second guessing. Add to that Amitabh Bacchan's screen presence.

This movie is not a ground breaking movie, but with a decent enough plot and genuinely well made action sequences - this movie deserve much more credit.

I don't understand why filmmakers keep on casting Katrina Kaif, apart from being eye-candy, she had zero contribution to the movie.
