Alan Parker - best known for "Midnight Express" - died recently, so I decided to watch one of his movies. "The Life of David Gale" pretty much ended his career. I guess that a lot of people saw it as an attempt to impersonate "Dead Man Walking". Nowadays it's of course jarring to watch, considering Kevin Spacey's presence (he wasn't someone whom I expected to get MeToo'd, but the fact remains that we never know which secrets people hold).
In the end, it's a tense thriller, although I couldn't tell which position it was taking eventually. Maybe it didn't take one and just wanted to throw in some surprises along the way. Worth seeing, if only once.
