Another very good episode. These first two episodes have been very heavy on character building, but with these two incredibly interesting leads, I'm not complaining at all. We got more insight into Rust's character and how he came to be the way he is (4 murders and lots of drugs apparently). He's almost empty in the way he carries out his police work. He has an objective and he will complete it even if that means beating two guys up. He's not interested in sex or anything else really. Just the case. Marty isn't as held up as he seems to think he is. He doesn't exactly have a perfect relationship with his wife, notwithstanding the fact that he's cheating on her. He also has the world's most fragile ego, so it's no wonder that his pairing with Rust, someone with pretty much no ego at all, is so engaging. Once again there were some brilliant quotes from Rust that I absolutely resonate with, particularly those about reproducing, and overall the dialogue in this show is just top tier. The imagery with Rust's hallucinations were amazing, particularly the flock of birds, and once again the visuals in general were excellent. In regards to the case itself, things are still moving very slowly, and while Rust is a fascinating character and Marty is also a very good character, there's not much else happening for the time being, but that should change very soon
