A really great movie that deals with a heavy topic, that is as relevant now as it was back then.
Gritty and violent and very very passionate but nothing is done here just to titillate, it provides a truth to the story that would be insincere if it wasn't included.
Does get a little bogged down at times and can be perhaps a bit too simplistic when dealing with the healing transformations of the characters. BUT it is a brave and challenging film that also remembers to entertain as well as educate.
