Great to see Venus back

It's great to see Venus back. I'm glad that they didn't make her trans character cartoonish. They showed her as human and complex and they didn't have the guys make a big deal of her. They treat her like a woman. I'm also glad they had a child porn story line and that they showed a camera pointing to a crib. I don't think people realize how prevalent this problem is in our society. I've been crapping on the writers a lot with other episodes, but this, this was excellent. They used their platform to talk about this somehow. The news rarely covers it, TV shows and movies don't really have stories about this. 1 child pornographer/pedophile has up to 150 victims, so think about how many victims there are in your country, on your continent, in the world, etc. I suggest looking up Child Rescue Coalition, Free The Girls, Plan International, among many other organizations that help victims of pedophilia and sex trafficking.

Aside from that, I have to say, the boy they chose to play Venus' son is a horrible actor. Thankfully the other actors carried the scenes he was in. Just him saying "Grandma why does grandpa have a gun?" oh please, that was so bad. The weight of the story, Walton Goggins (Venus/Vincet) performance, Tig's behaviour, all make up for this actors horrible performance. I think he may have been hired as a favour, he must be someone's friend or relative.

It's good to see Tara being strong again. Her character was first introduced as someone intelligent, strong, independent and the writers turned her into someone annoying. She's strong again and really is focused on getting away from crime. I love Wendy, but they seem to have done the same to her. She was a strong character, fighting her addiction, she knew she couldn't take care of Abel. She got help, got better, got a job helping others, was assertive about building a relationship with Abel. Even when Jax drugged her, she wouldn't back down. She's strong. But they've turned her into a pawn, made her unsure, insecure, doubtful and is pushed around. Drea de Matteo is so good and so under utilized in this show. I wish there had been more of her throughout the seasons. I may be biased though because I loved her on The Sopranos.

Despite all my issues with what they've done with some of the characters and with the horrible choice of actor as Joey, this was an excellent episode of Sons of Anarchy. Definitely in the Top 10
