Rudy is the restaurant proprietor who makes the greatest fries on the planet. Ethan is the hot-headed ex-boyfriend, who is also a suspect in the mother's death because she loathed him. As a spark plug, there is the gossipy neighbor, Mrs. Ledbetter. But the key relationship is that of Natalie and Brody, as they work together to solve the crime.
