On one hand this is very richly filmed, on the other hand do we really need this much swearing and sexual activity? Don't get me wrong, history can be really raw and brutal but holy cow man, tone it down a bit. It's almost like Netflix is saying "this isn't exciting enough, have that Russian noble say "F#&#" to the Empepror of Russia, repeatedly. We're not driving home the emperor and empress trying to conceive an heir, let's show every attempt, also Rasputin is a horn dog, let's beat that dead horse. Netflix does great work but I feel they go out of their way to be edgy and show they go beyond everyone else and that hinders this production.
