The premise is simple but somehow realistically and follows a family after a catastrophic event and their journey for survival. Very emiotional and consequent story telling. It also provides beautiful animation and soundtrack and reminded me a little of "Your Name" in these aspects, but in comparison it lacks of interesting characterization (only good and evil) and storytelling (too many ex machina moments).
It would have been better as a standalone movie with concentrating on the main characters, but Netflix probably don't likes solo anime movies .
