The village is really creepy and the camerawork really captures that. The church tower in the lake, the creepy hotel, the eerie maze bunker in the woods...The setting was awesome, but the plot failed. Many times.
A few quick things that come to mind:
1) Klara's doppleganger revealed that if you kill a doppleganger, a new one simply comes out of the lake. But somehow, only Klara's doppleganger was regenerated and no one else's.
2) Zero explanation (none) why Albert killed both real Anna and Evil Anna.
3) Also no explanation why he killed himself. His evil twin lived 17 years , raising his kids , having a decent life. Why leave your kids without a dad?
4) How about some explanation (or a hint for God's sake) about where the evils come from. You get a headache and hear the bells, okay fine. But how did it start?
5) We get the rebellious bratty daughter, the nerdy son, the confused lesbian, and the misunderstood drug dealer as the 4 teens. Did we miss any cliches?
6) But this last one is my favorite!!!: Mom is missing for 3 days. Kids frantically search for her the entire time. She finally reappears out of nowhere while the house is burning down. Cut to the next day, and they're all calmly sipping coffee. THEN the kids begin to ask about where she's been. "Where were you" would be the very first thing anyone says when they see her....they wouldn't save that question until the following day. Silly silly stuff.
