This movie is a amazing adaptation of a old show written by Annie MG Smidt, who is known for her children books.
Internationally this film is marketed towards older audiences but in the Netherlands it was heavily geared towards kids to watch with their parents.
I see a lot of international reviews claiming it's too silly, but clearly the original audience is lost on them.
That doesn't mean that the film can't be enjoyed by older audiences, as is seen in these reviews. But just dont be surprised when the film is childlike or even silly at points. I loved it as a kid and still do now!
