Scorpion, the hero the wasteland needs! Actually, he's not too good...

Warning: Spoilers
This film is called The New Barbarians and Warriors of the Wasteland. New Barbarians makes no sense, so I will think of it as Warriors of the Wasteland. A film that was obviously trying to be another Road Warrior and failing miserably. It also does something to the hero of the film that really undercuts the hero's toughness to an insane degree that you really cannot look at him the same throughout the rest of the film. This movie also shows us that after an apocalypse it will not be the super cool V8 interceptor that will cruise the wastelands supreme, but car with bubble top and skull on hood!

The story has the world in turmoil and the lands are a barren wasteland! Though, never thought there would be quite so many green fields and trees within such a place, but there are aplenty here. Also here, a band of roving knights calling themselves the templers who kill all the people they can, hoping to rid the world of humans all together; granted, bound to be survivors that do not live in the five or six miles this gang seems to hang out in. Soon, they will have to deal with Scorpion who kills a few of the bad guys, gets a girl, kills more dudes with the help of a guy whose bow and arrow set looks like it came from a retail store, decide to head out from the camp of the good guys, fight and kill more bad guys and get raped...what!?!

The film was going pretty good watching the hero shoot people with his badass gun that blew the hell out of one person. Then the hero gets captured and gets raped by the leader of the templers and after that gets pulled all over a field until Fred Williamson in ridiculous garb saves him. Who wants to see the hero get raped? I would rather they omit any rapes from films, this one kind of made me look at the hero like he went down a notch or two to allow himself to get to that point. Seriously, he is driving and killing, then gets out of his car just because there are more cars...why not plow through them? No, decides to let himself be defiled.

So, yeah, if this film could of just been the good guy arriving at the nick of time and shooting bad guys with the gun that blew people apart, I would have given this film a higher score. I mean, after the whole 'incident' his gun even seemed weaker. The plot was all over the place at times and then there is the music, some of the worst music on the Sega Genesis did not sound this bad! Then the ending comes with the guy not hugging the girl or giving the kid a high five, but instead a touching him holding the kid's hand, wtf!?!
