"Brides" is a Drama - Romance movie in which we watch the story of a mail order bride in 1922 who is just one of 700 brides going from Greece to United States and Canada to get married. This bride falls in love with a famous American photographer but she has to keep her promise and marry her new husband in New York.

I liked this movie very much because it presents very well and truly the social and economic situation of Greece during 1922 and how it was affecting the lives of people. The direction which was made by Pantelis Voulgaris was simply amazing and he made a great movie for one more time. Regarding the interpretations, I have to mention Victoria Haralabidou's who played as Niki Douka and she was simply outstanding, Damian Lewis' who played as Norman Harris and he was equally good and Evi Saoulidou's who played as Haro. Finally, I believe that "Brides" is a masterpiece that everybody should watch in order to learn more about the immigrants of Greece in United States and Canada, and especially about the mail order brides.
