A wonderful horror movie in its own right
14 May 2020
The fourth version of The Lonely Hearts Killers and the third best. Even at the penultimate position it's a wonderful horror movie in its own right. I think I would have liked this better if I were not comparing it to The Honeymoon Killers or to the real story of the Lonely Hearts Killers. Lucky for me it's worthy of a second watch. In this most millennial of versions we see the meeting of the two lonely hearts Michel and Gloria, who, once they hook up are a danger to any of the middle-aged rich ladies Michel seduces for her money. Gloria is cra-cra jealous and demands that Michel not sex them up; this - even though she is posing as his sister. Not too difficult, except when you consider that his prowess stems most from that sexing up. Danger ensues.
