Rover returns from his outing in Rescued by Rover (1905) to once more rescue producer Cecil Hepworth's little daughter in this 1908 short. Most sequels feel they must go one step further than their predecessor, and such is the case here, with Rover not only rescuing the little girl but driving her home in the kidnapper's car. It's actually very well done until the last few seconds when the car starts rolling on its own after Rover has jumped out and you can see a human hand emerging from the footwell to apply the handbrake
