Powerbirds (2020– )

Seriously? It's not a rip-off.

I do like Corn & Peg, but it is extremely overrated especially where TV Tropes and Wikipedia are concerned. This show is by no means a rip-off of it when you take actual facts and logic into consideration. First of all, this show premiered a mere year after Corn & Peg, and animation takes a very long time to produce. A lot of shows have characters doing good deeds, Corn & Peg didn't invent good-deed-doing, contrary to popular belief. Lastly, this show was announced in 2017, which was 2 years before Corn & Peg premiered. As for Powerbirds, itself, it's okay. Let me explain why:

Animation: This is one of the best aspects of the show. It's really fluid, has a nice color palette, and good lighting. It almost looks like a comic book, which is a good thing given this show's superhero influence.

Writing: The writing is somewhat cheesy, and the plots can be cookie-cutter at times, but it's passable. I guess the cheesy writing is intentional, because the whole show is a parody of cheesy superhero shows in the 60s like Batman. One of the best aspects of the show is that they use lessons from the superhero handbook to help them on their

Characters: Ace and Polly are really likable characters, but they do suffer from the fact that they have the same personality of being bold, kind-hearted, and heroic. The villains are all really fun.

Music: I like the theme song, it's catchy. And the background music is reminiscent of '60s surf rock, which is perfect for a show like this.

Enjoyment: It's not the best show out there, and definitely not something I would watch every day, but it's enjoyable if you just want to turn your brain off for a bit and watch a fun superhero show with really impressive animation.
