With Abi gone and Roger side-lined 'My Family' series 9 focused its attention much more on the core family unit (and Alfie), and was probably all the better for it.
Ed Dyson here comes up with a good episode, which although borrows an earlier idea (Ben and Susan getting locked in somewhere) comes up with a really nice plot about them being worried about Michael.
There's also a good subplot involving Alfie, and it was nice to see the character not only being given more to do, but also interacting with Janey.
I enjoyed this episode from the 9th series.
