And also bore fest. So many reality flaws: which single parent (even dad-)would not raise hell if his 5 year old kid did not sleep at home even one night without his permission, which assistant teacher would not challenge a colleague being at the best weird around just one of her pupils, how did a practically mute and docile kid perform his escape in the last ten minutes of the movie and most of all where can we see/feel/hear the positive signs that this kid is a prodigy( we heard only two of "his poems" which hardly explains teacher's conviction). The separate issue is the cringeyness of teacher-pupil intimacy, just reverse the sexes and the movie would not get beyond the idea trashing.
