One of the better of Franco's
25 November 2019
"Exorcism" is one of the better Franco offerings, though I realise that might not be saying much. It benefits largely from the presence of Franco's wife-to-be, the beautiful Lina Romay, who was more than generous about showing off her assets.

Unfortunately, as is his wont, Franco casts himself, this time in a main role. He just has no presence at all, even as a bad guy.

It's strange to say that the movie doesn't really have a plot, because what is there is pretty cookie cutter: some ladies perform a kind of Satanic cabaret sex art show in a nightclub, getting naked, drinking blood and pretending to torture each other with fake knives. Elsewhere, a religious zealot starts killing women who do such things.

The movie isn't interested in even a basic crime thriller plot, though. It just wants to show nudity, and so it does. There's also a surprisingly gory (though unconvincing) disembowling, but the violence is toned down here in favour of sex.
