Enjoyable load of BLARNEY
5 November 2019
Firstly I would like to commend the performances of the three lead players , not to mention how happy I was to see " Tommy " and " Nige " looking so healthy after their travails in the excellent " Love/Hate " series . Personally I thought it fell between a few stools , a bit like some of the Scandanavian series that I love but occasionally cant quite make up their minds ( or more likely don't wish to ) define which genre their work can be described ...Thriller ? Supernatural ?? Folk Superstitions. The always reliable fellow Northern Ireland actor , a Ballycastle native , of no mean repute , put in an entertaining and excellent appearance as the irascible Senior Officer but , with absolutely no offence to Conleth Hill , the dialogue was more reflective of the 1970s London Metropolitan Police than the 1990s Garda who by that time had got new uniforms etc and moved on. All in all a very fine series if TOM VAUGHAN LAWLOR in particular ,but also ,very much Killian Scott and Sarah Greene aren't snapped up by Hollywood ..... then Hollywood is making a big mistake . As far as the series goes ....well worth watching but ultimately falls a little short
