First just to say it and move in the actor playing the son, Preston is far too old for the role. The actor is about 10 and acts like a 6 year old. Other than that for a B movie, it's entertaining enough. There are some leaps of logic to be sure, no omg twists or big reveals. The characters are broadly drawn especially the villain. A lot of time is spent with the family saying "Stop, Jamie, just stop" - it got on my nerves actually and the heroine is incredibly naive but her frustration at being "gaslighted" is well done. This movie is not terrible. It lacks the budget and gloss of an A list film but for the most part you could see a young Julia Roberts playing the role a
as well - just with more shimmer and more sets.
