This is a stunningly horrible and lazy film. I watched this when it first came out years ago and didn't like it then but couldn't recall why. Recently found it in a charity shop and thought i'd give it another go as I thought the wife might appreciate it. Its such a a non-story/plot and Jon Favreau's character is a lazy, nasty, spoilt narcissist. Its impossible to fathom why Famke Janssen's character would fall in love with this nasty, petty little man. I can only imagine that Mr Favreau was playing this character on purpose but I'd have to go back and watch it again to see if its in the dialogue or in his performance and I don't think I could bare to do that.
I'm all for films where 'not much happens' in fact I often enjoy films like that and I pride myself on being able to watch 'almost' anything but this film made me so angry that I had to come on here and write the first IMDB review of a film i've ever bothered to write.
