Warning: Spoilers
This movie was aired in 1996, when I was 21 years old and I still remembered it to look it up this past week (I'm 44 now so that's quite a few "24 hours" ago), because it had a great story and pace. I did a Google search and found it on YouTube and re-watched it and it still held the test of time. The characters are believable. The story is gripping. It was made in the time when TV ruled the world so made for TV films were actually "not bad". (See: Stephen Kings "IT", still holds the test of time) This movie costars Charlotte Ross (which was important to me in the 90s as she played a favorite character of mine on Days Of Our Lives", in the 80s and early 90s) and it also stars the late Jonathon Brandis, who many may not know - was Bastian in "The Neverending Story II". It stars Tatyana Ali, who plays a young woman (Sharon) who has not played the victim in her life struggles, but turns her energy to her music, and shes extremely talented - with plans to attend Julliard. She makes friends with Jerry and his sister Ann and their friends who quickly become intoxicating to Sharon - as they live very different lifestyles (wealthy, glamorous, and dangerous) and Sharon feels drawn to them, almost like a star struck Hollywood fan over Movie stars. But like movie stars, glamour and danger always comes with a price or punishment, for being included in the parties. And like Movie stars, Ann feels very jealous of the spotlight being on Sharon - instead of solely herself. This is evident within the first scene of them together at a party. Ann is also extremely overprotective of her brother, Jerry. Jerry has feelings for Sharon. Hes very upfront about it and Sharon likes Jerry as a friend. When Jerry ends up dead after a drunk talk with Chad, a friend of theirs, Chad mentions that Jerry was very depressed and drunk over Sharon not returning his romantic feelings, suggesting that Jerry may have ended his life intentionally over Sharon. This infuriates Ann. As it might, any sister of a brother who just passed away with questionable cause. And thus instills the raging vengeance that Ann seeks on Sharon. Without spoiling the mystery, from this point on... things become very intense and unfair for Sharon. A truly gutted wrenching mystery soaked drama of incorrect placement of blame, incorrect accusations, and unfair deaths. Conspiracy soaked, Frustration infused, jealousy fueled suspense that is sure to keep you guessing until the last scene.
