Lacks the magic of the other Muppet movies but is somewhat enjoyable

Warning: Spoilers
This's one the weaker movies from the Muppet's franchise. Even Kermit's Swamp Years was more enjoyable than this. With that being said there're still hints of creativity in this movie. It's nice to see the Muppet's do their usual shtick though the story itself seems very lacking. Story-wise, the day starts out as usual for everyone except Gonzo who feels he doesn't belong on earth. This leads to him finding out that he's an alien and his true family's arriving on earth to retrieve him. What follows are him and Rizzo the rat being kidnapped by the Government in hopes of proving aliens exist leading to the rest of the Muppets scrambling to save him. What should be wacky and creative is just mostly long and boring. There're a few funny moments here and there such as Gonzo accidentally searing Rizzo after announcing he just found out his true origins and the effects are cool but for the most part it lacks the charm and wit of the other Muppet movies. It just feels lacking. While it's nice to see the Muppet's there's really not much to say about this movie. If you have little kids you can show them this but for Muppet fans skip it. I don't think you'd enjoy a close encounter with this movie.
