A promising show

Warning: Spoilers
I've supported Mao Mao ever since the first episode was leaked on the app in May of 2019. Let me tell you, it's a beacon of hope for future CN originals. Don't get me wrong, I like most, if not all of, the current Cartoon Network originals, but Mao Mao has gotten more online buzz than other new/upcoming shows.

The premise is very intriguing. Mao Mao wants to be a legendary hero, and randomly ends up in Pure Heart Valley, where he has to protect the Ruby Pure Heart. Along the way, Adorabat joins Mao Mao and Badgerclops, because she wants to be a hero too. This could potentially set up a story arc. The best thing about the show is that it doesn't take itself too seriously. Allow me to elaborate:

The show is an action adventure comedy, so even if there's a story arc, and even if things get dark at times, there will be some comedy to balance it out, which is great because this show is very funny and clever.

I admire the characters. The world of Mao Mao is vast and expansive with all sorts of unique creatures, and that's the beauty of it. Mao Mao is admirable due to his mentor like status to Adorabat and drive to be a hero. Adorabat is very cute and sweet, and looks up to Mao Mao. Badgerclops is just kinda there, but he can be entertaining at times.

The animation, provided by Titmouse (the same folks behind TOTS), is beautiful. It looks much different from other CN shows, and has dynamic action scenes. The theme song is reminiscent of an anime opening, and the credits music is a nice electric tune.

If you want to watch a show that's like the early episodes of Adventure Time, this show is for you. It's great that the show has gotten so much positive feedback from the usually cynical Cartoon Network fan base
