Review of Pappy

Pappy (2019)
Review from the team of Toronto Irish Film Festival
31 May 2019
I wish you had been there to witness the response last night. Pappy kept the audience on emotional tenterhooks from the opening moments, yet was so subtle that you could feel the layers of panic, relief, frustration at the lack of trust, and absolute silence as the final moments played out. It is a beautiful film, which, after a thirty second pause to let it sink in, was greeted with huge applause.
