Remember the old Battlefront 2? Remember how amazing and immersive that masterpiece was? This game is not even close to it. Sure the game is good to look at, it is truly one of the best looking games to come out of 2017, and the sound design is on point. I can't fault anything about the visual style, map layouts. It really does mirror how amazing the Star Wars movies look.
That being said, this game is trash ... plain and simple. The campaign is boring, with the main protagonist, being bland and not very memorable. The story is way too short, and they marketed the entire game based on how you will fight on the Empire's side, for like 3 missions. Really, that's all we get? So disappointing. But people don't play games like this for the campaign, its for the multiplayer. That is worse. The EA servers are riddled with lags and problems, that you spend most of your experience playing online, lagging around the battlefield, or have random drifts in your controller, all down to the poor game mechanics.
The game also has very poor content. Look at the Call of Duty games, despite those games dropping in quality over the years, at least those games have content to keep you going. 4 weapons per class! That's it? And a level 50 cap? You can get to that cap in no time. There is nothing in the game that has you wanting to come back, after you unlock everything, that's it. Nothing else. The lootcrate system is ridiculous as we all know, it seems pointless. Heroes in the game are just useless. Remember how good they were in Battlefront 2015? That game had its faults, but at least it was enjoyable.
Battlefront 2 is one of the worst games of the past 10 years, it is such a disappointment, and is one of the reasons why no one trusts EA anymore. They ruin everything they get their hands on. But I will say this about the game, its graphics are remarkable.
