"Daglicht" is a fascinating and complex film that focuses on a corporate attorney named Iris, who is assigned a case with a firm that has deep roots to her personal past. The film toggles between the family of the corporation Iris is representing and her own family. The two strands of the narrative are brilliantly tied together in a film that packs a strong emotional punch.

Beyond merely an entertaining thriller, "Daglicht" sensitively handles the subject of autism. Aron, the little boy of the attorney, has behavioral traits similar to Ray, the man whom Iris comes to believe is her brother. There is an intriguing bond formed between the little boy Aron and Ray, despite the fact that the characters never meet in the film.

One of most engaging characters in the film is Iris's mother, Ageeth, who has been successful up until now in concealing the sordid family history from her daughter. She is living a lie, yet proves to be possibly the most tortured and sympathetic character in the film.

There are several dastardly villains in the film, and they will stop at nothing to sanitize the record of the family secrets. The nastiest figure is a hired hand who excels at cleaning up messy situations. His specialty is manufacturing auto accidents for any occasion.

But no one counted on the resolve and tenacity of the attorney Iris, whose quest is to learn the truth about her family and herself.
