Warning: Spoilers
Here we have "Ore" and this is a new 2019 short film that is part of a collection of short movies linked to the hyper-successful Alien franchise and these short films were made in honor of the first Alien movie's 40th anniversary. You probably won't know any of the cast members or the two twin sisters directors Kailey Spear and Sam Spear, but the inclusion of production company 20th Century Fox here shows that thuese are not just mere fan movies. There is more behind these, more money and more prestige. For Kailey and Sam, by the way, this was not the first little spin-off linked to a true blockbuster franchise, but lets not go into detail about that now and instead focus on the contents of this film. It runs for 10.5 minutes inclusing a little over 1 minute closing credits. It is once again all about unseen danger and while I usually liked this approach it did not do too much for me here. Also the claustrophobic element is not as good as it could have been. The performances were okay, but clearly this is not a film for the actors to shine. The ending is okay and good it is not 100% happy or so, but still felt a bit generic. I have seen 3 or 4 of these Alien anniversary tribute movies and this one here is probably the weakest. I am generally not a huge fan of the franchise, so the other ones kinda surprised me that I genuinely enjoyed them for the most part, but this one here focused too much in screaming and sound effects and not enough on the story and wit. I give it a thumbs-down. My suggestion is you watch something else instead.
