Review of Little

Little (I) (2019)
8/10
Big fun from little Marsai

Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this movie more than I thought. There were many funny bits, the best when Jordan Sanders awakes as her old 13-year-old self and doesn't realize it. Thinking her assistant April Williams didn't place her slippers the right distance from the bed due to shorter legs and goes running around her apartment complex, getting bowled over by the boy she earlier shoved out of her way, gets laughed at the coffee counter, before realizing she has become a child before she had her Lasix eye surgery. Another is when April, posing as her guardian, finally has enough of Jordan's nasty attitude and engages in a slapstick battle ending with Little Jordan getting a well-deserved spanking, followed by April's victory dance. The tie-in between April's app letting users see the world through the eyes of a child and Little Jordan doing just that and realizing she is hated and has no friends, causing her reevaluate her life, brings a fine moral to end the film. Marsai Martin (Little Jordan), Issa Rae (April) and Regina Hall (Big Jordan) all give top-notch performances. I recommend seeing it!

By the way, I noticed some shots from "Little" used in the trailer and TV ads that didn't appear in the movie probably due to edits tightening the film before release.
