It's been 12 years since I've seen this series and it's one I still remember very well. Though the story might not be unique in its kind (since it sadly happens to more than just Aya), the choice of characters, music etc. all contributed into making this series one of the best I've seen. Definitely the one that had the biggest impact on me.
