DIFFERENCES BETWEEN BOOK AND FILM: MY OPINION

POSITIVE POINTS In the film it was easier to understand the order of events -- clearer plot. The scene in which Pessah brought pizza for everyone seemed very touching to me, because he wanted to pay homage to the memory of Shelly. The fact that Tamar sought help from the musical instrument dealer and not from a random person, I found more intimate.

NEGATIVE POINTS The scene in which Shay is drugged would have been less explicit because it could have had a negative effect on people who are impressionable or have a troubled past. The absence of Teodora -- who in the book had such an important part: she played an indisputably critical role in the development of the characters during the duration of the narrative. I didn't like at all the final moment when the relationship between Leah and Karnaf develops in a different way than I had expected. Life hardly ever has a happy ending for everyone. The ending was very simplified, I expected Assaf and Tamar to talk more and get to know each other better. Assaf's friends, like Roy, didn't exist -- they are an important part of his personal journey and change. Assaf is perfect, he doesn't miss anything, from the first minute of the film he's determined, he's not afraid of anything and he seems to know exactly what to do. The general atmosphere of dirt and crime -- in the book they were all much more civilized and united.

My personal advice is: don't watch the film, the dubbing in English/Italian is obnoxious and the actors don't show emotions.
