Mixed feelings about the show
2 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely loved season 1 although it didn't have all the cooking that people wanted to see, it was sort of understandable why they cut that out. After season 1 unfortunately season 2 happened and everything felt rather over the top.

First season 2 went tackling sexism and showing how some guys can be 'pigs' by making a sexist remark while the woman Heather gets upset invited this remark as they were rubbing it in horribly after coming back from a win. Oh and as far as these competition wins I'm convinced most of the time that they were geared towards sex appeal.

I think the whole men versus women thing is pretty old fashioned and has been done to death. It worked to some degree to draw a certain audience to the show especially with the women winning the vast majority of challenges. Now, this isn't done in every season and I admit I enjoy this show at times.

I didn't care for the conclusion of season 2 either where a very questionable contestant made it to second place. Keith was clearly the better chef and Virginia although supposedly had an excellent 'skill' that was pretty much only visible to Ramsey and the producer because if Virginia was a guy she would have been eliminated at the 1st day due to the number of mistakes she made.

Other seasons have this theme and it grew pretty tedious.
